A) Program & Structure
How Meta College works, what we teach, and how sessions are structured for measurable improvement.
1 What is Meta College?
Meta College is a National Online Academic Performance Institute supporting Grades 10–12 (IEB/CAPS). We specialise in performance recovery — helping learners who are underperforming to stabilise foundational gaps, rebuild confidence, and improve marks through structured intervention.
2 How is this different from normal tutoring?
Normal tutoring often focuses on ad-hoc homework help. Meta College is built as a structured performance system:
- Diagnostic-led placement to identify gaps and level the learner appropriately.
- Small-group instruction (max 15) for attention and pace control.
- IEB/CAPS-aligned progression designed to repair fundamentals and build exam readiness.
- Consistent cadence (8 sessions/month per subject) so improvement has momentum.
The difference is not only “more help” — it’s a system that produces reliable progress.
3 How do classes work (online)?
Learners attend live, small-group online classes, supported by Google Classroom for notes, tasks, and resources. Communication and admissions support are handled via WhatsApp where appropriate.
- Sessions are structured for understanding first, then practice and correction.
- Resources and follow-up tasks are delivered through Google Classroom.
- Parents have clarity on what is covered and what the learner should work through between sessions.
4 What grades and curriculum do you support?
We support Grades 10–12 and teach in alignment with the IEB/CAPS curriculum. Our focus is on stabilising core concepts, building technique, and improving test/exam performance.
5 How many sessions per month?
Each subject includes 8 sessions per month. This consistency is a core part of performance recovery — learners need repetition and guided practice across the month for marks to change.
6 How many learners per class?
We cap classes at 15 learners. This protects quality: enough interaction for questions, correction, and pace control — without the learner getting lost.
B) Diagnostic & Placement
How the diagnostic works, why it happens after payment, and how learners are placed for the right pace and level.
7 When is the diagnostic done?
The diagnostic is completed after enrolment and payment. This allows us to run a focused, learner-specific assessment and place the learner into the correct performance band for the subject(s).
8 Why is diagnostic after payment?
Because the diagnostic is part of the formal academic onboarding and requires tutor time, marking, and placement work. Running diagnostics for non-enrolled learners reduces quality for enrolled learners and creates administrative delays.
In short: payment confirms commitment, and the diagnostic ensures we use time and academic support responsibly.
9 How are learners placed (groups/levels)?
Placement is based on diagnostic performance and observed learning needs. We group learners by level and pacing requirements (not only by grade) to ensure teaching meets the learner where they are.

10 What does it cost?
Monthly options:
- 1 subject: R700/month
- 2 subjects: R1,300/month
April–November academic commitment:
- R4,800 once-off for 8 months (April to November)
- Equivalent to R600/month (saving R800 vs monthly payments over the cycle)
11 Is there a registration fee or term fee?
No. There is no registration fee and no term fee. The pricing is straightforward: monthly options (1–2 subjects) or the April–November commitment option.
12 Are there hidden costs?
No hidden costs. Your fee covers the academic system: small-group teaching, resources shared through Google Classroom, and the diagnostic-led placement after payment.
The only external costs are your own data/internet and device access.
13 Can we add a subject later?
Yes. You can add a subject later. Admissions will guide you through the update and ensure the learner completes the subject diagnostic for correct placement in the new subject group.
14 What is the April–November commitment and what does it include?
The April–November commitment is an academic cycle option for families who want consistency and savings. It is a once-off payment of R4,800 covering 8 months of teaching support (April–November).
- Equivalent to R600/month across the cycle.
- Saves R800 compared to paying monthly for the same period.
- Includes diagnostic-led onboarding after payment and structured class delivery.
15 What months are included (December excluded)?
Our teaching cycle runs from April to November. December is excluded (a dead month academically for most learners). We support year-round enrolment and onboarding, but structured teaching follows the April–November cycle.
D) Tech & Access
What learners need to participate reliably — and how we support access to Google Classroom onboarding.
16 What device and internet do we need?
Device: smartphone, tablet, or laptop (all supported).
Internet: stable connection is important to keep the learner present and engaged during live sessions.
17 Does my child need a laptop?
A laptop is helpful, but not required. Learners can participate using a smartphone or tablet. For certain tasks (typing longer answers, viewing worksheets), a larger screen can be more comfortable — but it is not a barrier to entry.
18 Do we need a Gmail account / Google Classroom?
Yes — a Gmail account is required because we use Google Classroom to share resources, tasks, and updates. If you do not have one, we can assist you to set it up quickly during onboarding.
19 Can learners attend on a phone?
Yes. Learners can attend on a phone. Many families choose this option. We recommend a stable connection and a quiet space so the learner can focus and participate.
E) Results, Progress, Communication
How we track improvement, how parents stay informed, and what happens when a learner misses a session.
20 How do you track progress?
Progress is tracked through a combination of diagnostic results, participation, task completion, and ongoing performance signals from practice and assessments. The goal is visibility: knowing what improved, what still needs attention, and what the learner must do next.
Performance recovery is not guesswork — the system is designed to show movement over time.
21 Will parents receive updates?
Yes. Parents receive clarity on learning direction and progress signals. Communication is typically managed through WhatsApp and Google Classroom updates where appropriate, so families are not left guessing.
22 What if my child misses a session?
If a learner misses a session, they should still complete the assigned work and catch up via the resources provided in Google Classroom. Because classes are structured, the learner can re-enter the sequence without being permanently left behind.
F) Getting Started
Enrolment steps, start timelines, and how to reach the right person quickly.
23 How do we enrol?
Enrolment is WhatsApp-first. Admissions will confirm the learner’s grade, subjects, and preferred schedule window, then guide payment and onboarding. After payment, we complete the diagnostic and confirm placement.
24 How soon can my child start?
In most cases, learners can start soon after payment and onboarding are completed, subject to group availability and correct placement. The diagnostic and placement step ensures the learner enters the right group from the start.
25 Who do I contact for help?
